The ASIS International convention, originally called the "ASIS International Annual Seminar and Exhibits," began shortly after the founding of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) in 1955, with the first one-day event held in Washington D.C. Over time, the convention rotated across different cities in the United States, adding exhibits in its second year, and was considered a key platform for security professionals to network and learn about emerging security issues. Today, the ASIS convention is known as the "Global Security Exchange (GSX). In 2025, GSX will be coming to the "Big Easy" (New Orleans) on
29 September – 1 October.
